As we progress in this Charter year, we should always be vigilant and recruit new members to our Unit Commissioner teams. There are communities in which we are not currently within ratios. It is our hope to build a team that would allow us to support units as per the National standard ratio of 3:1 or 1:1 for new units.
We need your help in recruiting this unit service volunteers! We should also plan ahead and help recruit volunteers as part of a continuity plan. Perhaps the new/prospective UC could shadow a current UC to learn his/her responsibilities, so that when the PCS, or move comes our communities are still covered by experienced volunteers.
As District Commissioner, I serve as the quality control officer who recruits, trains and leads a staff of commissioners who coach adult leaders of every unit to succeed. The district commissioner is responsible for the unit service function of the district.
